Main Street
2020 was launched to measure the effects of electronic commerce
on physical retailing and the subsequent evolution of retail as
a whole.
Sponsored by the California Department of Transportation (CalTrans),
Gensler, GTE, and Booz-Allen & Hamilton, the project conducted
research into retail trends and held forums with experts and retail
practitioners in several major cities including San Francisco, Los
Angeles, New York, Washington, DC, Dallas, Houston and London.
