Joel Kotkin

Kotkin has been active as a respected speaker, futurist, and urbanist for more than two decades. Along with The City: A Global History, he is also the author or co-author of four other books, including The New Geography: How The Digital Revolution is Reshaping the American Landscape, released in 2000. Kotkin has completed studies on the future of several major cities, including New York, St. Louis, Los Angeles, the San Fernando Valley, and the Inland Empire region of Southern California. He currently serves as a visiting lecturer in history, theory and humanities at the Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc) and consults for many leading economic development organizations, private companies, regions and cities.
